Versailles & Woodford County, Kentucky

Car rental in Versailles,
brought to you.

Woodford County is the prettiest driving in Kentucky and the worst place to be without a car. We deliver anywhere in Versailles, minutes from both Blue Grass Airport and Woodford Reserve.

Closer to the airport than Lexington is

Versailles sits about fifteen minutes from Blue Grass Airport — closer than much of Lexington itself. If you are flying in and staying in Woodford County, delivery to the airport or straight to where you are staying both work.

It is also the part of the state people picture when they think of Kentucky: stone walls, black four-board fence, and roads that bend for no reason other than the land. Old Frankfort Pike runs right through it and is regularly called one of the most scenic drives in the country.

What Versailles books us for

Woodford Reserve and the Trail

Woodford Reserve is here, on Glenns Creek Road, and it is one of the busiest stops on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Frankfort's Buffalo Trace is twenty minutes west, Lawrenceburg's Four Roses and Wild Turkey twenty minutes south. It is a driving itinerary and somebody has to stay sober for it.

The horse farms

Woodford County is thick with breeding operations, and visitors come for farm tours, sales and the sheer look of the place. None of it is walkable and none of it is served by public transport.

Keeneland

Keeneland is a short run east. During the Fall Meet, October 2 to 24, and the Spring Meet the following April, rental cars across this whole area become scarce and expensive. Versailles fills up with people who could not get a room in Lexington.

Weddings

There are a lot of barn and estate venues out this way, and a fair number of our Corvette bookings are somebody arriving at, or leaving, one of them.
